Do you enjoy a hot breakfast burrito in the morning? Then you already know that daily purchases of hot breakfast foods can eat away at your wallet. Here is how you can freeze your own homemade breakfast burritos and save time and money!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soft flour tortillas
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Bacon or sausage
  • Cheese
  • Salsa or green chili
  • Plastic Freezer Bags
  1. Step 1

    Slice potatoes and onion fry them in the skillet. Put them aside.

  2. Step 2

    Fry your bacon or sausage. You may also microwave them to save time. Be sure to cover with a napkin to prevent splatter.

  3. Step 3

    Scramble the eggs in a frying pan. Add potatoes, onion, bacon or sausage and mix together. You may also add other vegetables like bell pepper or mushrooms.

  4. Step 4

    Place mixture in a soft tortilla shell. Add cheese, salsa or chili, if desired. Roll them burrito fashion.

  5. Step 5

    Place all the burritos in a single layer on a cookie sheet and place them in the freezer until frozen solid.

  6. Step 6

    After they are frozen solid, place them in plastic freezer bags to be eaten later.

  7. Step 7

    When you are ready to eat breakfast, place them in the microwave for 2 -3 minutes (microwave ovens vary.) Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Feel free to experiment with different varieties and recipes for breakfast burritos including veggie breakfast burritos. They all freeze and reheat very well.

  • Be sure to lay your burritos flat in a single layer when you first put them in the freezer. If you stack them before they are frozen, they will stick together.
