A Princess Doll Cake for your Princess! Delight your little girl with doll cake!
Once your cake is baked, the decorating is EASY!! NO DECORATING TUBES OR PASTRY TUBES NEEDED!! For a great icing, see my articles on buttercream icing! I also have a moist, easy pound cake recipe from mixes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Wilton Wonder Mold Doll Cake Pan
  • 1 eight inch cake pan
  • 1 Barbie doll or similar doll (you may use 7 in. doll pick)
  • 2 Cake mixes or my recipe for pound cake
  • Icing or my recipe for buttercream icing
  • Spray cooking oil
  • Aluminun foil
  • Pink colored ribbon
  • yellow colored sugar
  • pink colored sugar
  1. Step 1

Assembly Wilton Classic Wonder Mold doll cake pan as directed in the instructions that came with the mold.

  2. Step 2

Grease cake pans and the Wonder Mold cake pan heat conducting rod with solid margarine and then spray with Pam or other spray cooking oil.

  3. Step 3

Prepare cake mixes as per box instructions or use my Moist Pound Cake from Mixes instructions in another article.

  4. Step 4

    Pour batter into prepared pans.
    Fill doll pan 3/4 full
Fill 8 inch pan with 1 inch of batter.
If you have any remaining batter, you can make cupcakes.

  5. Step 5

Bake at 350 degress until knife or toothpick inserted into cakes comes out clean.
After baking, remove from oven and cool.
    Remove from pans.
...MAKE SURE CAKES ARE COMPLETELY COOLED BEFORE ICING CAKES.

  6. Step 6

To frost cake, use your favorite white icing, canned icing, or try my delicious Buttercream Icing in another eHow article.

  7. Step 7

Place 8 inch cake on a plate or board. Cover top with icing.

  8. Step 8

Place wide end of doll pan cake on top of 8 inch cake.
    .Completely cover cakes with icing.

  9. Step 9

...If using regular doll: With a knife inserted through middle of top of the cake where the doll will be inserted, carve out a 1 1/2 inch hole.
.. If using 7 inch doll pick instead of the regular doll, DO NOT CARVE OUT THE HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE CAKE. Just insert doll pick into top of cake.

  10. Step 10

    FOR REGULAR DOLL:
Remove clothes and shoes from doll.
Tie doll's hair into a pony tail with a ribbon or rubber band.
Wrap doll from chest to bottom of feet in aluminum foil.
.Push regular doll into center of cake..If doll is too loose, add icing into the hole to stablize.

  11. Step 11

Wrap ribbon around dolls chest to form top of dress.
    Wrap ribbon around dolls waist.
Allow long pieces of ribbon to flow down the sides and back of the dress.

  12. Step 12

Sprinkle yellow colored sugar in the front and center of the dress.
Sprinkle pink colored sugar on the remaining areas of the dress.
Or alternative pink and yellow colored sugar around the dress.

on 10/29/2008 My Mom made this cake when us 4 kids were little. She woke us up to show us the finished cake. We ended up taking pictures of the beautiful doll-cake, then we ate her! She tasted as good as she looked :) Thanks, great article!!!
