Step 1
Do the research on what career you would be interested in. There are many careers available and the Air Force website is the best place to begin.
-
Step 2
Recruiting OfficeFind a local recruiter and make an appointment. The recruiter will be able to tell you everything you need including careers, pay, benefits, basic training, and how to prepare yourself for a lifestyle in the Air Force.
-
Step 3
Follow the guidelines and procedures your recruiter tells you. You will have to take a physical exam and complete an aptitude test called the ASVAB (Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery) to determine job qualification.
-
Step 4
Talking with a recruiterAsk lots of questions. A recruiter is a great source of information, but remember the recruiter's goal is to get you to sign up, so complete some of your own research and talk to other Armed Forces members.
-
Step 5
Go to recruiting events and talk to active duty Air Force members to get a-day-in-the-life perspectives.
-
Step 6
Take the enlisted oath after all the paperwork and preparations are complete.
-
Step 7
Prepare for basic training!
