In hockey a very effective shot is the slapshot. This may look easy but it is hard if you don't know the correct form.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • hockey stick
  • hockey puck
  1. Step 1

First you have to determine if you shoot left handed or right handed. You do this by deciding which feels more natural.

  2. Step 2

Then if you shoot right handed put your left hand near the top of the stick and your right hand a little bit past the middle of the stick.

  3. Step 3

Next spread your feet so they are a shoulder width apart and put the puck about a foot away from the middle of your stance.

  4. Step 4

Then once everything is set up you move the stick back like a golf swing, but with a different grip.

  5. Step 5

Then swing the stick down so the blade of the stick hits about an inch behind the puck and follow through.

  6. Step 6

Once you get more advanced in this motion, the set up won't matter as much or take as long.

Tips & Warnings
  • When swinging down it is important to hit the puck about in inch behind the puck, because this will cause the stick to flex and hit the with power.
  • The follow through is also important, because this is a major part of aiming.
