Things You'll Need:
- Blow dryer
- Goo Gone (available from hardware stores and some drugstores)
-
Step 1
To remove a sticker from a book dust jacket, hold the head of a blow dryer about an inch above the sticker. Turn it on high and allow the heat to hit the sticker for thirty second to soften the adhesive.
-
Step 2
Carefully loosen the sticker at each corner. The heat from the blow dryer should make it easy to separate the sticker from the dust jacket by gently pulling up the corners and pulling across from each direction.
-
Step 3
Slowly peel the sticker off. In most cases, it will come off without fragmenting. If you encounter resistance, reapply the heat for thirty seconds and try again.
-
Step 4
Once the sticker is removed, apply a small amount of Goo Gone to a paper towel and rub it over the area where the sticker was peeled off. This will remove any residue.
-
Step 5
Use this method to remove a sticker from a dust jacket quickly and easily whenever you buy a new book. The sooner you remove the sticker after purchasing, the easier it will be to take off.
