How to read guitar tab

this is not always easy for everyone to read but I hope this will help

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Step 1

first make sure your guitar is in tune. then get some guitar tabs (There are loads of web sites but I will put a few good ones in the resources)
Step 2

guitar tab is upside down. so if you see a no. on the bottom line it means play that fret on the top string. if there are 2 no' s on top of each other it means play both of these at the same time
Step 3

it also helps to know the names of the strings.E is the thickest string, A is the next string, D is next, then G, next B and finally E again. a good way of remembering this is Elephants And Donkeys Grow Big Ears.
Step 4

thats basically it but it may take a bit of practice to get good at it. most tab has the name of the sting next to it.
