Need more space on your computer? Using Microsoft Windows Vista? Use Disk Cleanup!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Windows Vista
  • 5 minutes
  1. Step 1
     

    Click "Start".

  2. Step 2
     

    Click "Computer".

  3. Step 3
     

    Right Click "Local Disk", this most likely has a (C:) behind the words Local Disk. Click "Properties".

  4. Step 4
     

    Click "Disk Cleanup". Wait for it to process.

  5. Step 5
     

    This brings up a list of items you can include in the cleanup process. Most likely you will want to leave the defaults in place, but take a look at them sometime. Click "Ok".

  6. Step 6
     

    Click "Delete Files", when this is done processing you're all done!

Tips & Warnings
  • Run Disk Cleanup again at later dates to keep things tidy
  • Running Disk Cleanup multiple times does not hurt your computer
  • Make sure your computer is scheduled for disk defragmentation to better take advantage of your new space
  • If you've never run Disk Cleanup before it can take a longer the first time
