Using lime juice is also a great remedy to help prevent and treat dandruff. Slice a medium lime in half, remove the seeds, and squeeze the juice in a small container. Use the juice to massage into your hair and scalp. Let it sit for a while, then rinse the hair and style. Repeat this as necessary, until the dandruff disappears.

Beet is also an effective natural home remedy for treating dandruff. The water that the beet is boiled in, can be used to massage into the hair and gently work your way to the scalp.
