Things You'll Need:
- hair straightener (ionic for best results)
- comb or brush (optional)
- heat protection products (optional)
-
Step 1
straightener with heat control and on and offMake sure your hair is completely dry before starting. If you just showered and need to dry your hair, plug in the straightener to heat up. If your straightener has heat settings, keep in mid your hairs resistance to being straightened and it's thickness.
-
Step 2
Prepare your hair for straightening by adding any products you normally add when wet such as gel, leave in conditioner, shine serum, ect. A nice addition for straightening is something that protects against heat. Not only do these help keep your hair healthy, they also help make sure it stays shiny and smooth even after being straightened.
-
Step 3
After only 5minutes of straightening.Brush your hair to get out any tangles, then start straightening! Move slowly, many people complain that their hair takes forever to actually get straight. The most common reason for this is not stubborn hair, but actually straightening it too fast. Gather a small section about half the width of the straightening plate, start at the top and hold the straightener tight. Slowly run down the length of your hair moving slower on the ends. This way the hair is completely straight after going over it once or twice.
