How to Make a Unique Mobile for your Baby's Room
Using the theme of your nursery, you can make a simple, yet very creative mobile for your child's room.
- Difficulty:
- Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need
- Fabric pertaining to the theme of the nursery
- mobile base to hang from the crib
- package of cording
- polyester fiberfill

1
You will only need about half a yard of fabric or less. Once you have found the fabric you will use, fold it in half. Write in pencil your child's name. Be careful not to put the letters too close together.Write them pretty large because 1/2 inch or so will be trimmed away as a seam allowance.
-
2
Cut two of each letter. Folding the fabric in half allows for this.
-
3
Now place each right side of the letter together. Sew along the outside of the letter allowing a 1/4 to 1/2 inch seam allowance. Leave an inch opening at the top. Place a 2 inch piece of cording through the opening. Repeat this for all letters.
-
4
Turn all the letters outside in so you are seeing the right side of the fabric. Take some polyester fiberfill and stuff into the letter through the 1 inch opening with a pencil. Place a 2 inch piece of cording through the opening. Slipstitch the letter closed, through the cording.
-
5
Tie a knot at the top of the cording. Slip the cording (where the knot is) into the mobile base and secure. You now have a one in a kind nursery mobile.

Tips & Warnings
If the child's name is long, you may have to group letters together before you hang.
