  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt

  • 1 cup ice cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salad oil
  • 2 tsp food coloring-optional
  1. Step 1

Mix dry ingredients in the saucepan ( flour, salt, cream of tartar). Place over medium high heat.

  2. Step 2

Add ice cold water, salad oil and food coloring if desired and cook and stir until boiling. Boil 3 minutes. Cool

  3. Step 3

Store play dough in zip lock bags in refrigerator. Keeps up to about 2 weeks.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can divide all the ingredients and use two different colors of food coloring for more choices.
  • Watch out for heated stove with younger children. If using an electric skillet stir continually and avoid the steam. Assist all younger children with the cooking.
