Instructions

    • 1

Select inexpensive candles to use as your centerpieces as opposed to an expensive floral arrangement. Floating candles, bowls, candle holders, pillars and tea lights are often found at dollar stores or discount stores. Set out a row of tea lights on each table, a small bowl with floating candles or one large pillar candle in the center of the table.

Make a flower arrangement centerpiece by using fresh-cut flowers currently in season and mixing in non-floral decorative embellishments, such as berries or pine cones, depending on the theme of the event. These non-floral embellishments will fill up a bouquet and cost less than flowers. Use silk flowers instead of fresh which will save you money on your arrangement.

    • 3

Repurpose containers, bowls, vases or jars you have at home to use for your centerpiece. Use decoupage to cover old coffee cans or other food containers and fill with silk flower arrangements. Fill decorative bowls from home or a thrift store with cinnamon sticks, pine cones and ornaments for a holiday party centerpiece.

Combine your dessert with your centerpiece by placing a cupcake tree in the middle of the holiday table with decorated cupcakes for dessert. This is a way to have a beautiful centerpiece that is also practical and saves money.

Place your guest's party favors in decorative boxes or bags and arrange them in the middle of the tables to act as centerpieces until guests leave and take their favors home. For an inexpensive favor box, select solid-color boxes from your local craft store and wrap ribbon around it like a gift.
