The right foundation will help even out
your complexion and create a smooth
canvas to "paint" on.
Here are some tips for applying
foundation effortlessly.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Choice of Founation
  • Sponge or Brush
  • Moisturizer/Primer
  • Mirror
  • Good Lighting
  1. Step 1

    Choose your foundation or base.
Liquid: light to medium coverage (all skin types)
Cream: medium to full coverage (normal to dry skin)
Stick: light to medium (all skin types)
    Cream-to-Powder: (normal)

  2. Step 2

Next, find a primer or moisturizer that's right for your skin
type. Smashbox is one to try.
Primers help to smooth out your skin, filling in fine lines and
will keep your foundation from fading.

  3. Step 3

    Choose your Applicator:
    Liquid: Sponge or Foundation Brush
    Cream: Sponge or Foundation Brush
    Stick: Sponge or Fingers
    Cream-to-Powder: Sponge

  4. Step 4

Blend and Blend some more: With Liquid and Cream foundation, dot a
little on you checks, nose, chin and forehead(if nessecary) and
use a sponge or brush to blend in light downward and outward strokes.
Open your mouth and blend foundation slightly underneath your jawline until it "disappears". This will prevent any demarcation lines.
You want to wear make-up, you don't want the make-up "wearing you".

  5. Step 5

Remember to put a little foundation on your EYELIDS.
This helps to hide little capillaries and will also help
your eyeshadow go on better and wear longer.

  6. Step 6

Now that you've applied your foundation, the next step is concealer.
With your fingers or a small concealer brush, apply where needed and
blend well. Use a shade lighter than your foundation.
Last step is to "set" your make-up with a light dusting of powder.
I prefer LOOSE powder since it tends to be more sheer than pressed.
