Frozen foods are convenient and usually inexpensive. You can keep your budget in check by following these tips to save money in the freezer section.

  1. Step 1

    Every store has a huge freezer sale once every year. Watch for these sales and stock up!

  2. Step 2

    Ice cream will drain your budget in a hurry. Never buy ice cream that isn't on sale. There is ALWAYS an ice cream coupon in the Sunday coupon inserts.

  3. Step 3

    Look for mark downs on frozen turkey around Thanksgiving. Hams will be dirt cheap after Christmas.

  4. Step 4

    Skip those expensive frozen pie crusts and make your own.

  5. Step 5

    If you have the buy the frozen biscuits, buy generic. They taste just as good!

  6. Step 6

    Don't pay extra for cheese-covered veggies. You'll save money by melting some cheese over the veggies yourself.

  7. Step 7

    Buy the large family packs of frozen vegetables. You can always refreeze the unused portions. These stay fresh for three months.
