So you’re little miracle has finally arrived! You’re daily life is mainly consisting of changing diapers, feedings, baths, changing clothes and of course cuddling your bundle of joy. You knew this time was coming and you were prepared. Now how do you get rid of those sleepless nights & midnight feedings?
Now that your baby has a regular feeding routine there has got to be at least one feeding scheduled for late at night or in the wee hours of the early morning. Some parents complain that their baby is still waking up every night at 4 months and 6 months of age and beyond. This doesn’t have to be! There are a few simple, but very rewarding tricks you can use.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If your son or daughter wakes up around the same time every night like clockwork and you are sleeping in a separate room, set an alarm clock 10 minutes before he/she usually wakes up. This will give you time to prepare the bottle and also make sure baby doesn’t wake up too much from crying of hunger.

  2. Step 2

Make sure that the lights are dimmed low or completely shut off during the feeding.

  3. Step 3

Also make sure to speak in a very low voice, this will show the baby this is no time for playing and he/she will get accustomed to this. He/she will also begin to understand that this is a time of feeding only. Following these steps will ensure that your son/daughter begins sleeping through the night. Babies don’t know how to differentiate between the proper times to be awake and proper times to be asleep so it is your job to teach them. Soon your baby will recognize this feeding among the rest and soon after won’t need to awake during the night at all.
