Beach glass.

To be creative with beach glass, you only need two things...the glass and your imagination. You make up the rest as you go. Here are four ideas that will hopefully inspire you....

Instructions

    • 1
      Doorstop.

To be creative with beach glass, put assorted beach glass, shells and beach washups in a large glass fishbowl. Find a large fishbowl at thrift shops and garage sales inexpensively. Use it as a decorative doorstop in your home.

      Beach glass bookmarker.

Use hemp cord, silver beads, and lightweight wire to make beach glass bookmarks as gifts. Note the piece of glass is just heavy enough to keep placement in the book pages.

    • 3
      Beach glass necklaces.

Make beach glass necklaces using leather, hemp cording, silver beads, wire. Vary the styles of the necklaces to suit your tastes or as gifts for a friend.

    • 4
      Beach glass mobile.

Be creative with beach glass and make an arty mobile with only wire and beach glass. (You will be able to see the details much better by clicking on the picture). Cut wire for each piece of glass, wrap the wire around the glass, and curl the excess wire into loops. Hook the loops together in whatever arrangement you wish. Notice there is a pretty blue piece on the bottom of the mobile.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't live near the ocean, you can find beach glass available for sale on Ebay and various sites on the internet.

  • This is another one of those craft projects where you find your best work by using your instinct and imagination. Sometimes the "mistakes" turn out to be a very good thing. :)
