How to Make New Year Painted Votive Holders

Things You'll Need
- Clear glass votive holders
- Paint made for glass
- Fine point paint brush
- Regular paint brush
- Small number stencils

Paint "Happy New Year" around the top of the votive holder. Use the fine point paint brush. Don't take up more than 1/2 inch from the top. Use either red, white or blue paint.

Using the stencils, paint the year on one side of the glass. Paint the first number red. Paint the next two numbers white. Paint the last blue. If you want to personalize the holder, paint the name or names of the recipient under the year. Use the fine point paint brush for the names.

Paint a display of fireworks on the other side of the candle holder. Use the fine point paint brush and start at the bottom. Make your strokes up. The strokes should go up one side and curl back down the other. Make two of these going in each direction. Make one in the center that goes straight up. At the end of each stroke, paint a gold star. Allow the paint to dry for about an hour.
