Things You'll Need:
- Winter scarf
- Inexpensive knit gloves
- Individual packet of cocoa mix
- Individual packet of hot apple cider mix
- Small marshmallows in small ziploc bag
- Small handheld flashlight w/batteries included
- Song sheet of carols
- 2 inch wide red ribbon
-
Step 1
Buy an expensive knit scarf and gloves at a discount store. Buy enough for the number of carolers you will have, including yourself. Keep the color basic such as black or red. If desired buy one color for the men and a different color for the women.
-
Step 2
Open out one scarf on your work surface. Fold the scarf in half bringing the short ends together. Fold in half again this time bringing the long ends together. This will form a sort of pocket.
-
Step 3
Place a pair of gloves towards one end of the scarf tucking them inside the pocket you made. Be sure the colors match on both the scarf and the pair of gloves. You could buy a pair of gloves with stripes that coordinate with the color of the scarf you are using.
-
Step 4
Tuck a packet of cocoa mix and apple cider mix insde the scarf pocket. Place them towards the same end as the gloves. Place a handful of small marshmallows into a snack ziploc bag and place it inside the pocket along with the other items.
-
Step 5
Purchase small handheld flashlights at a discount store. Be sure to put batteries in each flashlight. Tuck a small flashlight inside the scarf pocket close to the other items.
-
Step 6
Tuck the song sheet with the carols you will be singing inside the pocket behind the other items.
-
Step 7
Roll up the scarf by starting at the short end where all the items are. Roll up tightly so the items won't fall out. Repeat steps 2 through 7 for all the scarves and items.
-
Step 8
Cut a piece of the red ribbon about 12-inches long. Cut enough pieces for each bundle. Wrap a piece of ribbon around one scarf bundle and tie into a bow. Repeat for all the scarf bundles and pieces of ribbon.
-
Step 9
Place the scarf bundles in a basket by your front door. Hand out when your guests arrive to go caroling.
