Some use such programs to create simple documents, while others use the same programs to create complex and stylistic writings. For those wishing to see paragraph style names, they can easily do so simply by telling the software to make the width of those style names greater than the preset, which is zero.

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Word 2003
  1. Step 1

    Make sure you are in “Normal” view. Click on “View” and then select “Normal.”

  2. Step 2

    Open the tool options menu. Click on “Tools,” then select “Options.”

  3. Step 3

    Access the view options. Click on the “View” tab to access this option menu.

  4. Step 4

    Display paragraph style names. In the “Style Area Width Box” field in the “Outline and Normal Options” section, enter the desired measurement, in inches, for the paragraph style names outline view.

  5. Step 5

    Save the view options. Click on the “Okay” button to save the options. When you return to the document, the paragraph style names will be displayed.

  • The paragraph style views can really clutter up a document when turned on.
