1. Make sure you are in “Normal” view. Click on “View” and then select “Normal.”

2. Open the tool options menu. Click on “Tools,” then select “Options.”

3. Access the view options. Click on the “View” tab to access this option menu.

4. Display paragraph style names. In the “Style Area Width Box” field in the “Outline and Normal Options” section, enter the desired measurement, in inches, for the paragraph style names outline view.

5. Save the view options. Click on the “Okay” button to save the options. When you return to the document, the paragraph style names will be displayed.
