Repeat Table Headings on Additional Pages in Microsoft Word 2003

Sometimes users create documents in Microsoft Word 2003 with very lengthy tables. Whenever a page break occurs in the document, this can break the table up, where only the next set of table cells occurs on the subsequent pages. However, users can make the table headings repeat on all pages that contain the table.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create the table. You will need a table that is longer than one page and that continues to another page in the document. Either create the table or import one from your spreadsheet software application.

  2. Step 2

Highlight the heading and row labels that you wish to be repeated on subsequent pages. (This selection has to include the first row of the table.)

  3. Step 3

Open the table menu. Click on “Table” and select “Heading Rows Repeat.”

  4. Step 4

Save the changes. Click on “File” and then on “Save” to save the changes that you just made.
