Paint or glue embellishments to the outside of the pot. You can even buy an already decorated ceramic pot if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, paint a scene or glue your sea shells around the pot. You can use stencils and do an Americana theme or letter stencils and write "Have a Happy Day" around the rim. Just decorate it in a way that complements your decor.

Cut a piece of aluminum foil to fit the bottom of the pot if it has a drain hole in it. Hot glue it to ensure nothing leaks out the hole. Put clay or sand in the pot to raise the candle so it is higher that the pot. Place your candle in the center.

Stick in some flowers and greens around the candle. Fill the entire area between the candle and the pot rim. If you are in a rush you can use a candle ring already done with flowers that will fit in the pot. If you are doing a sea shell theme, just fill the area with small shells and pebbles. For fall, use small pumpkins and pine cones. Fill in with pine needles or holly. You can fill with potpourri and even make it smell nice when the candle is not lit.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You can turn the pot upside down and glue flowers all around the outside to go up above the bottom of the candle also. Then just glue moss around the bottom to hide the stems of the flowers. This gives the candle great height and makes a great centerpiece.
