Things You'll Need:
- Felt (lime green, black, tan and, purple)
- Plastic spoon
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Chenille sticks (lime green and gold)
- Fine tip black marker
-
Step 1
Cut a square from the lime green felt, so it is large enough to wrap around the bowl end of the spoon.
-
Step 2
Place the spoon, scoop-side down, onto the square of lime green felt. Fold the felt over this end of the spoon and wrap the edges around it. Use the hot glue to hold the fabric in place. Draw the witch's eyes and a mouth on her face (the rounded side of the spoon) with a fine tip black marker.
-
Step 3
Spread the piece of black felt flat and fold it in half. Trace the outline of a long-sleeved, ankle-length dress onto the felt. Taper the dress from the arm to the waist, and then flared-out to the hem. Cut out the outline so that you will have two identical dress shapes. Cut out two identical triangle for a hat and two semi-circles for the hat's brim.
-
Step 4
Lay one dress shape flat on the table. Place the spoon onto the felt with the scoop end just above the "collar" of the dress and with the handle on top of the felt. The scoop of the spoon will be the witch's head.
-
Step 5
Place the matching dress shape on top, sandwiching the handle of the spoon in between. Use hot glue to attach them together at the shoulders only.
-
Step 6
Cut the lime green chenille stick in half, and then cut each piece in half to get four equal pieces. Fold each quarter piece in half. Slip one into each of the sleeves, with the folded end visible. Slip two under the bottom hem of the dress, also with the rounded ends visible. Secure them in place with the hot-glue. Glue the top dress shape to the bottom.
-
Step 7
Trace and cut a 4 x 3-inch rectangle out of the purple felt. Fringe one of the 4-inch sides, by cutting horizontally from one edge up to within a half inch of the opposite end. Hot glue it around the tip of the spoon scoop, to serve as the witch's hair. Leave a gap for the face, or trim some of the fringe above the eyes to serve as bangs.
-
Step 8
Glue one of the two hat shapes to the top third of the spoon scoop, covering the witch's "hair." Glue the second piece similarly to the back, sandwiching the scoop.
