Things You'll Need:
- Website
- Camera
-
Step 1
Have a complete set of artwork. This can be any type: sculpture, paintings, charcoal, watercolor and so forth.
-
Step 2
Frame your work and matte it if it is a painting, drawing or watercolor. Each artist's piece should be framed and ready to hang in a gallery, on a wall or for a show. If your art is not ready to hang then people may look to other art that is readily accessible to place on a wall.
-
Step 3
Use promotional techniques to get your work known. This can be newsletters, flyers, links to your website on business cards or any other ideas you can come up with to get your work seen. Take pictures of your artwork in well-lighted areas. Upload these pictures onto your computer and make a website. The website should have your art work, prices and section about you.
-
Step 4
Promote your website to friends and family. You can also add your art website link to social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook. Do not spam. Place the link to your websites on places on the Internet with which you are acquainted and where you participate. This is a great way to establish yourself as an artist on the Web.
-
Step 5
Ask art galleries in your area if you can host a show. You can also ask businesses with space if you can place your work there or if they will let you host a show in their store. Once you get a yes, make up flyers with the date and time of the show. Make sure you put the date of your show on your website. Pass these out to everyone. Hold a meet-and-greet at the show. Not only will you establish yourself as an artist online, you will be knownout in the everyday world, too.
