Building an HTML Hit Counter for MySpace
Having a hit counter on your MySpace profile serves multiple functions. It is the most effective way of knowing how many times your profile has been seen. If you have a lot of visits, it also provides you with bragging rights, by showing the world how popular you are. Adding a counter to your profile is free, and it is also very easy to set up. Just follow these simple steps to build a counter to track your hits on MySpace.

Open your web browser and go to Freecountercode.com. (Follow the link in Resources.) There are a number of places to build an HTML hit counter, but with nearly 200 decorative styles, this one is typically the best option for MySpace profiles.

Scroll to the bottom of the page. In the middle of the screen, you will see a button marked “Get Your Free Counter” and “Click here." Click this button to start building an HTML hit counter.

Select the style of counter you want to use on your MySpace profile. There are many pages of sample counter styles to look at. Once you have found a style you like, click the circle next to it, then click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

Fill out the form on the page that asks for information about your counter. Enter the web address of your MySpace profile, your email address and how many hits you want your counter to start at. Click the “Submit” button after you have entered all of the required information.

Copy the code that is generated and paste it into your MySpace profile, in the section where you want the counter to appear. To copy the code, simply highlight the entire code with your mouse and press “Ctrl+C” on your keyboard. Paste the code by pressing “Ctrl+V."

If you can’t find a counter style you like, there are many other free hit counter services. Just do an Internet search for “MySpace hit counter” and you will find plenty of alternate locations.
