How to Grow Miniature Amaryllis
Shades of pink, white, yellow and red are perfect colors for holiday flowers. A favorite flower in these colors, which also grow well in November, are miniature amaryllis. Growing only about 5 inches shorter than regular amaryllis, the miniature varieties produce more flower stems, giving the plant a much fuller appearance. Purchase an 8-inch flower pot and fill it with potting soil. Place 3 miniature amaryllis bulbs halfway into the soil. The upper half of the bulb must be above the soil.

Place the pot in a mild weather location. Miniature amaryllis grow well in most climates but must be kept away from frost.

Water the plant well after planting and then again each time the soil dries. Waiting until the soil is dry ensures that you will not over-water.

Place the pot in full sun once the shoots appear in about 6 weeks. Continue watering each time the surface of the soil is dry.

Move the pot to a shadier location once the flowers mature to preserve the flower color.

Tips & Warnings
Miniature amaryllis are very easy to grow. They can survive most any soil or climate condition.
If the pot isn't moved into light, after the shoots appear, the stalk can grow excessively.
