Instructions

    • 1

Mix 1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal (follow directions on the package) with 1 egg. This will form a thick paste. You can add water if you think it is too thick. Apply this mixture on your face and leave it for 20 minutes or longer if you like. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry. This is great for people with normal skin.

Follow the same instructions as above, but add a tablespoon of olive or almond oil. This will help to moisture dry skin. You can also use some vitamin E oil, if you like. This is not necessary because the olive oil will work the same way.

    • 3

Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to the 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 1 egg if your skin is oily. The citric acid will help to “pull out” the excess oil on your face.

    • 4

Feel free to add whole milk or plain yogurt to the above recipe. This will help to moisture your face without adding any extra oils. You face will look softer and be more supple than before.

Try adding different fragrances to your oatmeal facial. Chamomile and lavender are relaxing scents. Mint is an invigorating scent. You can even try vanilla. These fragrances can be purchased as extracts in many different types of stores. They are usually readily available in health food stores.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients you use, especially if you add fragrances.
