There is something on neopets that users do to gain thousands or maybe millions of neopoints, and this trick is called "sniping." Sniping is when you pull up the show wizard on your browser and "snipe" an item from someone's shop that has that item priced way lower than the actual value of the item. Some good items that are commonly sniped include Icy Snowflake, Mootix, rare paintbrushes, any codestone that is priced low, and many more. Users don't need any set amount of neopoints to snipe, but it is handy to have at least 50,000 neopoints out just in case.

Similar to sniping with the shop wizard is sniping with the trading post. There are a few differences when using the trading post as opposed to the shop wizard. When searching with the trading post, as many as 10 items come up at once, making the search for that one rare item a little more difficult. Moreover, most users will not have a "wish list" written up, or it will not be clear as to what they want, so it makes it difficult to know if a user will give you a super deal or just decline your offer without a moment's hesitation.

The hands-down best way to make neopoints is by using a method called "restocking." Restocking takes a lot of patience, practice, and about 50,000 neopoints on hand. It is basically just a way to buy rare items from the stores for cheap and then sell them in your shop or in a trade for a large profit. To achieve greatness in the ways of restocking, memorize when the shops' restock times are, refresh a few times every minute on that second when it is possible that they restock, and be quick when claiming that special item.

The best way to get good at restocking is to practice. After a little while, it is not difficult to know whether or not an item is rare. Restock in two to four shops at once to maximize your chances.
Sniping is an acquired skill. Try searching for about ten different items daily before calling it quits. After searching for those items every day, it will become apparent as to which items are the best to snipe. Memorize these items.
After gaining a good amount of neopoints, you will stick out to the average neopets user and some users will try to scam you out of your account. Don't fall for any tricks or scams. Some common scams include regular users neomailing you and asking you things such as "will you trade pets with me?" or "if you're on vacation, can I watch your pets?" Another common neomail is one where someone tries to pose as The Neopets Team and tells you that you have been warned and have to give up your password. The Neopets Team will never ask for your password. Report this person and then delete the neomail.
