A skin care routine is something that many women and men practice on a daily basis. A good skin care routine should consist of products such as cleanser, an exfoliator, a toner and a moisturizer. Unfortunately, since you will be using most of these products on a regular basis, sticking to a good skin care routine can be very expensive. Luckily, it does not need to be. Here are some tips that will be beneficial to anyone who is interested in how to save money on skin care products.

Things You'll Need:

  • Coupons
  1. Step 1

Check out some generic brand products. Be sure to try out a few different ones, in order to determine if there are any that you may like just as much or even more than the skin care products that you currently use. You may be surprised to find that many of them will work just as well and they can save you a lot of money in the long run.

  2. Step 2

Be sure to do some comparison shopping. Find out where you can find the best deals on a regular basis. Whether it is the local grocery store, a drug store, a beauty products store, or even online, it is a good idea to figure out which place sells skin care products at deep discounts.

  3. Step 3

Always remember to use coupons. They often come in the newspaper, or you can find them online. Most drug stores and some grocery stores often will provide coupons for skin care products. Generally, they are provided for the popular brand products. This can be one of the quickest, easiest ways to save money on the products that you love.

  4. Step 4

Consider joining a savings club if you haven’t already. At a savings club, you will generally be able to buy products in bulk at a lower price than you normally would have spent at the grocery store or drug store. Although there is usually a club memebership fee involved, this can save you a lot of money on skin care products over time.

  5. Step 5

Determine what size will offer you the most amount at the lowest price. Economy- sized products tend to be ideal, but it really will vary according to store. Look at the amount involved and the price. If, for example, a two-ounce product is being offer for one dollar but an eight-ounce product is being offered for 10 dollars, then your best bet is to opt for several of the two-ounce bottles.

  6. Step 6

Rotate between different product brands. Most women or men are attached to using a certain skin care product. If there is one type that you really love, then don’t give it up completely. Instead, rotate it with generic brand products. This will help you save a lot of money because you will be cutting down how often you use the expensive brand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider visiting the doctor if you have acne; a prescription drug may take care of the problem more quickly and save money in the long run.
  • Remember that just because a product is on sale doesn't necessarily mean it is. Check out prices beforehand to make sure that you are getting a decent sale price.
