Hawaii is at the center of Pacific Rim businesses and links the West Coast of the United States with the Asian business world. Thus, finding business equipment supplies such as projector rentals in Hawaii is relatively easy, although some islands have fewer rental items available. This projector rental guide will show you how to find the right Hawaii projector rental for your budget.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Determine the cost of renting a projector from your meeting place, whether it is at a hotel or in a conference center. Some Hawaii hotels can include the cost of rental equipment in the quoted price of renting a conference room. If your meeting place does not offer projector rentals, ask them to refer you to local Hawaii projector rental businesses.

  2. Step 2

Contact the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce (808-545-4300) and the Small Business Hawaii organization (808-396-1724 ) for referrals to reputable projector rental companies in good standing with either organization (see Resources). This will weed out unscrupulous retailers and unreliable companies. Rental companies listed with these organizations must meet quality criteria and face accountability within the organization.

  3. Step 3

Search Hawaiian Telcom's Yellow Pages with some caution. Get price quotes, but be careful when calling Hawaii businesses; some businesses may be advertising in the Yellow Pages but are actually located on a separate island. Cross-list the rental companies with your previous referrals from the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce.

  4. Step 4

Compare the prices of all the quotes you received for a projector rental. Also factor in additional influences, such as how far you have to drive to pick up the projector rental. Some projector rental companies will deliver the projector rental for an additional fee. Select the company that best meets your budget.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cross-list the rental companies you find in the phone book's yellow pages with the referrals you received from the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce. Ignore companies not held in good standing with the chamber.
  • Check what type of connection your computer needs to be connected to a projector rental. Some computer models offer limited connection options. If you're unsure, consult your computer's manufacturer to find the type of connections (e.g. USB, Firewire, DVI) your computer has. Be sure that the projector rental you search for is compatible with your computer.
