How to Play Kid Icarus for Free Online

Kid Icarus is a cult Nintendo Entertainment System game from 1986. Although the game was only mildly popular and spurred only one sequel, Nintendo decided to use its hero, an angel named Pit, in "Super Smash Brothers Brawl" for the Wii. But if you want to enjoy the original adventures of Pit, you don't even need an NES to do it. All you need is a Flash plug-in for your browser to help Pit defeat Medusa with his magical bow!

Instructions

1. Go to the Kid Icarus site. (Follow the link in Resources.)

2. 

   Click inside the game window to start the game.

3. Press "Enter" to start the game.

4. 

   Use the Control key to click between "Start" and "Continue." Press Enter to do one or the other. Press "Start" to start a new game. Press "Continue" to use the sacred words to go to a different level. (Sacred words are passwords.)

5. The Enter key acts as the Start and Pause button. Control is the Select button. X is Jump. Z shoots arrows from Pit's bow. The arrow keys control movement. Up + Z shoots an arrow straight up. Down makes Pit crouch.

6. 

   Play the game. Pit must climb out of Hell and defeat Medusa to save the world. Keep jumping to higher platforms. Kill all the enemies with Pit's bow and collect hearts from them. Enter doors by walking into them. Walk off the screen to go to the other side of the screen.

Tips & Warnings

• Stand back and wait for enemies to fall, then shoot them. You will get lots of hearts this way.

• If Pit falls off the screen or falls in lava, he will die.
