How to Earn the Ignus Tattoo in "Planescape Torment"

You can gain magical tattoos that will bolster your character's abilities in the PC role-playing game Planescape Torment. When you complete certain quests or convince people to join your band of adventurers, then new tattoos become available. You can earn the Ignus Tattoo, which raises a character's resistance to fire, by getting the wizard named Ignus to join your party.

Instructions

1. 
    
   Finding the Decanter

   Play through the game to the point where you explore the catacombs below the city of Sigil. Go into the area called the Drowned Nations and find the room to the north with the body of a dead ghoul. Search the trash heap in the room and take the item called the Decanter of Endless Water.

2. 
    
   The Face in the Wall

   Head into the Weeping Stone Catacombs and talk to the stone face carved into the wall. Ask the face about the Decanter so that it will activate the Decanter's power, but tell you that you still need to find a magic command word to use it.

3. 
    
   Meeting Nemelle

   Leave the catacombs and go to the Clerk's Ward in the city of Sigil. Speak with the woman in the bright pink dress standing at the bar named Nemelle. Ask her about the Decanter and she will give you the command word required to activate it.

4. 
    
   Ignus

   Go to the Southwest section of the area called the Hive and head into the Smoldering Corpse Bar. Use the Decanter of Endless Water on the flaming man named Ignus to make him join your party.

5. 
    
   The Ignus Tattoo

   Travel over to the Southeast portion of the Hive and go inside the building called Fell's Tattoo Parlor. Speak with the tattoo artist named Fell, who will have the Ignus Tattoo available for you.

Tips & Warnings

• A character who wears the Ignus Tattoo receives bonus hit points and a magical resistance to fire damage.
