How to Play Toontown Online
Disney's ToonTown Online has many options for engaging game play. A free account permits you to play in ToonTown, with some limits. For a small monthly fee, you can get a membership to ToonTown which allows complete and unrestricted access to the game. The premise of the game is that ToonTown has been invaded by robotic Cogs who seek to take over the Toon-owned businesses. Your job is to defeat them and return the Toon buildings to their rightful owners.

Select your Toon. Choose whether you'd like to be a girl or a boy. Then choose which animal you'd like to be. With the free account, you may become a cat, mouse, rabbit, duck, pig or dog. You must purchase a membership to become a horse, bear or monkey. In the next screen, select your color. Move on to choose your clothes. Select your name in the next screen.

Complete the Toontorial. Your first ToonTask will be to defeat a Level 1 Flunky Bossbot Cog. Click on the gags to attack him, then return to Toon Headquarters to receive your reward. During the Toontorial, you must also complete other ToonTasks such as playing games on the trolley, purchasing gags from the gag shop, making a friend and recovering a blackboard eraser from the Cogs. Return to headquarters after each you complete each task.

Begin defeating Cogs in the streets of Toontown. Stick to Level 1 Cogs at first. Join with other Toons whenever possible for extra fire power. Return to the trolley or go fishing whenever you need to earn jellybeans, which are the currency of Toontown. Sell the fish you catch to the pet shop to get your jellybeans. Watch your Laff points, which can be seen in a meter in the lower left hand corner of your screen. When these points get too low, your Toon will become too sad to fight the Cogs. He will then have to return to the playground until he feels better again.

Join with other Toons to defeat Cog buildings. You can recognize these by their dull gray color. Never enter a Cog building alone. Instead, use the SpeedChat icon in the upper right corner of your screen to ask other Toons to fight with you. If you like, you may click on the other Toon's name to whisper your request directly to him.

Get another ToonTask in the Toon Headquarters in the playground or on any street. Select a ToonTask which will offer you a significant reward such as teleportation ability, added Laff points or the ability to train a new gag track. You may need to complete more ToonTasks to get your reward.

Use your Schticker book to navigate around Toontown. As you explore, new parts of the map will become visible in the Schticker book. Also use the book to determine how many jellybeans and gags you have in your inventory, how many fishing trophies you've earned and which ToonTasks you're currently working on. If you're having difficulty finding enough Cogs to complete your ToonTasks, click on the "Districts" button and change to a district that has a green sphere beside it.

Begin to attack higher level Cogs as your gag experience increases. Return to the playground when your Laff points become too low. Look for items such as ice cream cones, starfish and daisies. When you pass through them, they will recharge your Laff points. You may also return home through your Schticker book to get your Laff points back up.

Tips & Warnings
You can purchase things such as clothes and larger jellybean banks from the Cattlelog by using the telephone in your ToonTown home.
Toons with free accounts may only explore ToonTown Central.
Do not allow your child to become "True Friends" with players he doesn't know. It may give him the ability to provide his name, address or telephone number to a dangerous person. If he wants to talk with other players, have him use the SpeedChat, which limits him to safe, predetermined phrases.
