How to Make a Baseball Pillow

Make yourself a sturdy little pillow with your favorite baseball team's name on it. It makes a personal gift for the baseball enthusiast in your family. You can even take it to the stadium and use it for a seat cushion. You'd better make enough for all your friends or they will want to use yours. It also makes a great addition to a boy's sport themed bedroom.

Things You'll Need

• Fabric
• Sewing machine
• Thread
• Needle
• Scissors
• Chalk
• Polyfiberfill
• Fabric paint
• Paint brush

Instructions

1. Cut two circles from white fabric, about 26 inches around. When sewn together, this will be a plump but flat pillow.

2. Paint the threads on the pieces of fabric with red fabric paint. A real baseball is made from two pieces of material that are in the shape of a dog bone. They are sewn together with one piece going side to side and the other going up and down. This is what you want the painted threads to look like. You may want to use a light colored chalk to draw out the lines first until you get the pattern right. Then paint on your team name in an opening from the threads. If you are very artistic you can paint on the team logo instead or use an iron-on logo. Allow the paint to dry for about an hour.

3. Place the two painted sides together and sew around the outside of the ball. Leave a 2-inch opening in order to stuff your pillow. Turn it right side out.

4. Stuff the pillow with polyfiberfill. This type of pillow is most comfortable if stuffed loosely. You'll want to fill it up but not make it too tight.

5. Hand sew the opening with a needle and thread.
