Learn to Play Six Cup

Six Cup is a drinking game that can be played at home or in a bar setting. Like most drinking games, the object of Six Cup is to get as drunk as possible. Unlike most drinking games, Six Cup is not a team game and there is no determined winner at the end of the game. It is illegal to play Six Cup or any other drinking games if you are under 21. If you feel one of the players in the game has had enough, it is best to quit playing the game entirely and move onto a non-drinking game. Follow the steps below to play Six Cup.

Instructions

    • 1

Line six cups or glasses on a flat surface, preferably a table. Write the numbers 1 through 6 in Sharpie, one on each sticky note. Place the sticky notes on one of each of the cups, in numerical order.

    • 2

Place a full pitcher of beer next to the cups. Each player rolls the die to see who goes first. The person with the highest roll goes first.

    • 3

Instruct the first player to pour any amount of alcohol into the numbered cup corresponding with the number they rolled. Some players will strategically choose to pour a lot of alcohol into the cup, and others will choose to pour very little.

    • 4

Instruct the player to the left of player one to roll the die. If they roll the number of an empty cup, they can pour any amount of alcohol they want into the empty cup. If they roll the number of a cup with alcohol in it, they must drink all of the alcohol in the cup.

    • 5

Continue playing until players collectively agree to stop. There is no winner of Six Cup--the only object of the game is for all players to become drunk.
