With the Canon MP970, you can print, copy and scan at the higher level than you might imagine. You can print 4 x 6-inch photos in stunning color at up to 9600 x 2400 color dpi and the whole process only takes 35 seconds. Because the MP970 utilizes a unique, 7-color ink tank system the printer can deliver photos that look like they came from a photo shop. The unit can scan documents, photos, negatives and pages from magazines or books and print them up at 4800 x 9600 color dpi. That means your copies with be exceptionally faithful to your originals.
Things You'll Need
- Canon MP970 printer
- Compatible printer paper
Ensure the MP970 is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Turn the unit on by pressing and releasing the "On/Off" button located on the upper right hand corner of the control panel.
Scroll through the menu on the "Home" screen using the easy-scroll wheel in the center of the control panel until you come to the "Copy" icon. Press and release the "OK" button in the center of the easy-scroll wheel.
Grasp a stack of compatible printer paper. Align the edges of the stack by lightly tapping each edge on a hard flat surface. Load the paper into the rear paper tray. Slide the paper guide to the right until it rests snugly against the left side of the stack of paper. Press the "Paper Feed" button, located on the lower left hand corner of the control panel, until the rear tray lamp comes on.
Raise the document cover to its fully opened position. Load the document you wish to copy onto the platen glass with the side you wish to copy faced down. Align the original document with the alignment markings around the perimeter of the platen glass. Close the document cover.
Scroll through the settings on the LCD menu by using the easy-scroll wheel. Press the "OK" button to select paper size, media type, and any other special settings you may need. Press the + or – button to select the number of copies you wish to make.
Press the "Color" button to print color copies. Press the "Black" button to print copies in black and white mode.
Tips & Warnings
- You can cancel a copy job at any time by pressing and releasing the "Stop/Reset" button.
- Never place any document on the platen glass until the ink is completely dry.
