How To Become A Realtor In Maryland
Complete your education. The state of Maryland requires that you complete a 60 hours of a pre-license class. They will also accept any approved college course taken in the subject of real estate.
Take the real estate exam. The real estate exam is given every day (Monday-Friday) at specific testing centers located in various places in Maryland. The exam is only two hours long. There is a fee each time you take the exam.
Apply for license. After you pass the real estate exam, you must apply for your license. For a license to be issued to you, you must have a signed letter of intent that secures a position for you with an agency.
Join the association. To legally use the official title of REALTOR, you must join the Maryland Association of Realtors.
Renew. Real estate agent licenses expire every two years. To renew your license, you will be required to attend up to 15 hours of continuing education courses.
