Saving the most money possible at the grocery store is an attainable goal by utilizing the price matching policy at Wal-Mart. With a little pre-planning, you can do all your shopping in one place and get the best prices from around town.

1
Gather the printed sales advertisements from local stores. Wal-Mart stores will price match for stores near them, usually between 5 to 15 miles.
-
2
Review the advertisements, and look for sale items you're interested in. Circle the item and the sales price to make it easier to find later. Wal-Mart will price match the same brand, size and item listed in the advertisement. The actual price must be listed for each item. They will not price match for percentages off or buy one, get one free items.

-
3
Write out your grocery list. Group items together from the different stores, and note the store and sales price next to each item. This will make it easier in the checkout lane.
-
4
Travel to Wal-Mart with your grocery list and the advertisements. Do your shopping, and keep the items for price-matching separate from the rest of your items. Depending on the amount of matched items, you could put a hand basket into your cart to separate the items, or you could shop with someone else and use two carts.
-
5
Place your items on the conveyor belt, putting the price match items first. Let the cashier know that you will be price matching, and tell him the price before he rings each item. He may need verification from the advertisement, which is why you brought it along and circled the items.
