How to Make a Rubber Stamped and Fabric Leaf Autumn Greeting Card
Make beautiful autumn themed greeting cards to send out for Thanksgiving or Halloween. This card is multi-textured, using both paper and fabric. Although one design is shown here, the autumn leaf and rubber stamp design can be any design depending on the choice of autumn rubber stamp pictures and fabric leaves available. These can be made by adults or children. This is a good group project for classes or craft groups.
Things You'll Need
- Autumn colored card stock
- Autumn themed rubber stamps
- Multi-colored ink pads in autumn colors
- Fabric leaves
- Scissors
- Corner rounder punch (optional)
- White craft glue

1
Fold the card stock in half to form the card. Make sure the crease is pressed and sharp. Use your fingernails to make the creased fold crisp or use the blunt edge of something like a butter knife if your fingernails aren’t long enough.
-
2
Trim the corners of the card stock with the corner rounder while the card is folded so the front and back halves match. If there is no corner rounder available, the corner can be carefully rounded using scissors or just left square. The rounded corners give the greeting card a warmer, more finished look.

Stamp the pumpkin or other image on a separate piece of autumn colored card stock using the multi-colored ink pad. Let it dry, then cut the shape out leaving a small frame of the card stock all the way around the stamped image to highlight it. Set it aside to use later. If a lot of cards are going to be made, get as many of the large images as possible on one sheet of card stock. Cut them all out.

4
Stamp the front of the card with a second smaller, more delicate looking autumn rubber stamp, like a tiny leaf pattern or an acorn for example. Use the multi-colored ink pad again to stamp the image. Stamp the images all over the front of the card facing in different directions. Have some of them going off the edges of the card. Let the images dry completely before you go to the next steps.

5
Get fabric autumn leaf bunches, like silk oak or maple leaves on garlands or stems available at most craft stores. Cut a single leaf off of the bunch. Glue it at an angle on the front of the already stamped card so it looks like a fallen leaf sitting in acorns. Then glue the rubber stamped cut out pumpkin on the front of the card so it just overlaps one edge of the leaf slightly. Let it dry. The card is complete and ready to send or present.
