How to Get Thinner Cheeks

Full cheeks can make a person appear heavy. While cheeks are a barometer of a person’s overall figure, some people are simply prone to fuller faces than others. Depending on your own makeup, you may find that you gain or lose weight easily in your face, particularly your cheeks. Unfortunately, we can’t choose the areas where weight comes off our bodies so if you wish to get thinner cheeks, you’ll have to lose weight in general.       Eat a healthy diet. Cut down on junk food, sodium and excess sugar. If you cut calories healthfully, you will lose weight and it will eventually come off your cheeks as well.

      Exercise. In addition to healthy eating, exercise is key to any weight-loss plan. Aim for 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise at least four times a week.

      Drink at least 64 to 80-ounces of water daily. Oftentimes, chubby cheeks are exacerbated by sodium retention. If you drink lots of water, you will flush excess sodium and toxins from your body, thereby making cheeks look thinner.

      Massage your cheeks for two to three minutes once a day. This will encourage circulation in the area.

      Perform daily facial exercises. Puff your cheeks out, filling them with air while your mouth remains closed. Suck your cheeks in like a fish, again keeping your mouth closed. Facial exercises will help to tone cheek muscles, helping the area to look taunt and youthful.

      Consider facial liposuction. During the surgery, a plastic surgeon breaks up and then removes excess fat from your cheeks. After surgery, your cheeks will appear thinner and more defined. As with any surgery, facial liposuction is a serious decision and carries with it the potential for various side effects.
