Instructions

    • 1

Remove all rust from the intended area(s).

    • 2

Drill holes into the areas requiring Bondo. This will give the Bondo something to “hold” onto after it is applied. The substance should actually “ooze” into the drilled holes.

    • 3

Wipe off the area with paint thinner.

    • 4

      Apply the Bondo.

    • 5

Allow the Bondo to dry thoroughly before sanding.

    • 6

Sand the area with an emory cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not mix the Bondo until you are ready to use it.

  • The intended area needs to be sanded smoothly following the contours of the vehicle. Be careful to not use an excessive amount. This is a case where too much is not better because any extra will create extra sanding work and make more of a mess.

  • After the area has been sanded, use your fingers to tell if you have filled in the area enough.

  • When mixing and applying the Bondo, always wear plastic gloves and a proper mask. Bondo is a lead-based resin and, while safer than using body solder, it can still pose some serious health risks.
