The case race is a popular drinking game played by college students in fraternities or by drinking buddies at a bar. The case race is about as popular as flip cup or quarters, but instead of being skill-based, it is based on who can drink the most alcohol in the shortest period of time. If you are under 21, it is illegal to play drinking games involving alcohol. A non-alcoholic version of this game could be created if players were unable to use the bathroom during game play. Play this and all drinking games at your own risk. Follow the steps below to learn how to play The case race.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Beer or other alcoholic beverage
  • Nearby restroom
  1. Step 1

Split players into two teams. The number of players on each team does not have to be equal, but each team should be able to consume a similar amount of alcohol.

  2. Step 2

Purchase at least two cases, one for each team. Hand each case over to the team leader, who has been elected by the team as the most responsible. The team leader's job is to hand out new beer as each can or bottle is completed.

  3. Step 3

Set a stopwatch to count the number of minutes you have been drinking. This way you can see how long it took both teams to complete their case.

  4. Step 4

Penalize players for using the bathroom. Players must take a five minute penalty if they use the bathroom and may not bring their beer with them.

  5. Step 5

Announce the winning team. When the first team finishes its beer, a nonpartisan person checks to see if all the beers have been thoroughly drank. The first team to drink all the beers in its case is the winning team.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to mix lightweight and heavyweight drinkers so both teams are evenly matched.
  • You must be 21 to play this drinking game.
  • Exercise caution and responsibility when playing drinking games, especially in public.
