Make a Fabric Business Card Case

It's difficult to find a business card case that expresses who you are. Many people print their own custom business cards, which means there's no case provided. Even if you get them printed, the card case that comes with them is usually cheap plastic. Here are easy directions to make your own business card case.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 8-inch-by-2-¼-inch piece of fabric
  • 1 82-inch-by-2-¼-inch piece of fabric
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Iron

Instructions

    • 1

Place the smaller piece of fabric on top of larger piece of fabric (printed sides facing each other) along one long side of the fabric. Match the fabric precisely and stitch the three outside corners.

    • 2

Stitch a hem on the opposite end of the large piece of fabric so that you won't have a ragged, unfinished edge when you're done.

    • 3

Fold the larger piece of fabric (right sides together), so that the hem is parallel to the end of the smaller piece of fabric that was sewn on in Step 1.

    • 4

Stitch along the three edges of the folded piece of fabric, making a seam of about 1/3 inch. Turn right sides in as shown in illustration. Make sure each corner is neat. Press with a hot iron.

    • 5

Insert business cards (holds about 50 cards) in the longer pocket; the shorter piece serves as a flap.
