Step 1
Go to the State Capitol. Situated on the city's Capitol Hill, this building rises high above the city. This is a Neo-Classical building in the shape of a dome and is the location for the House of Representatives, Senate, and Supreme Court of the state. The interior of the building is particularly beautiful, with its Golden Room and marble rotunda.

Step 2
Explore This is the Place Heritage Park. Brigham Young declared this area after the Mormons' long 1,300 mile journey; he shouted "This is the place!" In 1947, a monument was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Mormons settling in Salt Lake City. Check out Old Deseret Village in the park.

Step 3
Check out Trolley Square. This was formerly the site of a streetcar depot constructed in 1908. Now, Trolley Square is a stylish and sophisticated shopping and entertainment hub, with various boutiques, department stores, cafes and other entertainment complexes.

Step 4
Spend some time at Pioneer Memorial Museum. This 38 room museum details the history and development of the valley in which the Mormons arrived back in 1847. There are various fascinating artifacts on display here, such as wagons, agricultural tools, clothing and other pioneer era staples.

Step 5
Visit the Clarke Planetarium. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in all of Salt Lake City. There are various exciting astronomic presentations here, including laser and multi-vision shows. There is also a specialized library and museum within the planetarium.
