How to Make a Time Capsule Christmas Present

Looking for an unique or original present for Christmas this year? Memories can touch our hearts the most and bring back some of those fond moments from childhood. By doing some simple research on current events, or asking family members for old photos, you can create a gift to remember, a time capsule Christmas present to give to somebody special.

Things You'll Need

• Old photographs
• Current event cutouts
• Antique collectibles
• Music from the past on CDs or tapes
• Covered box or wicker basket

Instructions

1. Find out when the recipient's birthday is. You will need to find items from the recipient's birth year.

2. 

   Talk with the recipient's family members and look for old photos from their childhood and favorite memories such as vacations, pets, siblings and cousins. Arrange these pictures on a scrapbook page with decorated papers, stamps and stickers. Journal the page with descriptions of where the pictures were from.

3. 

   Research important events from the recipient's year of birth. Look through old newspapers in libraries, books and magazines. Make copies of any important events, and frame them or arrange them on a scrapbook page.

4. 

   Browse eBay or antique stores to find items from the year of the birth. Look on eBay for license plates that have the year that the recipient was born. Find figurines or antique dishes that were created in the year. Look for old music hits.

5. 

   Put all of these items in a pretty covered box or wicker basket. Present it to the recipient for an original and unique Christmas present. It will also be a wonderful sentiment for the receiver to cherish for years to come.
