Instructions
1
Decide if you want a standard Wal-Mart credit card or the Discover Wal-Mart card. Both cards allow you to save 3 cents per gallon when you purchase gas from participating gas stations. In addition, neither card imposes an annual fee. The Discover Wal-Mart card gives you 1 percent cash back on everything you buy, and tends to be accepted at more places due to the Discover name.
2
Visit the Wal-Mart Financial Services website, where you can apply for either card. (Follow the link in Resources.)
3
Create a Wal-Mart account. This will allow you to log in directly every time you visit the financial site, and not have to re-enter your information.
4
Complete the credit-card application. Submit all your personal information, including your current address, phone number and email address. You'll also have to enter your annual income, the amount of time you've been living at your current address and your billing preferences. Confirm your identify by providing your date of birth, Social Security number and driver's license number.
5
Read the terms and conditions for the credit card. You will have to electronically agree to the terms, so read them carefully.
6
Sign the application, electronically. When you click "Accept & Submit," it serves as your electronic signature. Confirm that all if the information you have entered is correct before you do so.
