Instructions

  1. How to Make a Felt Doll

    • 1

Help your child draw the shape of a person onto a square of felt. The doll should be about as big as an adult hand, to make it big enough to play with. Make sure to draw it simply--a head, two arms slightly away from a torso, two legs slightly apart.

    • 2

Have your child glue the felt to a piece of cardboard. Cut out the doll with the cardboard backing intact.

    • 3

Let your child glue on yarn scraps for hair. They can also draw a face on the doll with a marker or pen.

    • 4

Have your child pick out some of their favorite fabric pieces. Put the doll on different pieces of fabric and use a pen to trace around the doll and onto the fabric. Cut out the outfits.

    • 5

Let the child dress the felt doll with the outfits. The fabric will stick to the felt. Keep the doll and the outfits in a zip-lock bag or shoebox.
