How to Make Homemade Laminate Floor Cleaner

The idea of making homemade laminate floor cleaner may seem overwhelming. After all, it's easier to run to the store and buy a ready-made product, isn't it?

Homemade laminate floor cleaners can actually be made with products that you already have in your home. They are easy to put together and will save you a lot of money. Most recipes for laminate floor cleaner can be used with a mop and bucket or as a refill for your Swiffer WetJet or Clorox ReadyMop bottle.

Instructions

Things You'll Need

• White vinegar
• Hot water
• Dish detergent
• Lemon juice
• Ammonia
• Rubbing alcohol
• Baby shampoo

1. Mix together 1 cup white vinegar or rubbing alcohol with 4 cups hot water. Use this cleaner with your mop and bucket, or to refill your Swiffer or Clorox mops.

2. Mix together 2 ounces clear dish detergent with 2 cups vinegar, 1 cup lemon juice and 2 cups hot water. Use this solution to refill your ready-to-use mop. If using a standard mop and bucket, you can increase the hot water to fill your bucket.

3. Mix 2 tbsp. ammonia with half a cup of rubbing alcohol and 1 tsp. dish detergent. Top it off with 2.5 cups hot water. Use this solution to refill your ready-to-use mop.

4. Mix 2 tsp. baby shampoo with a gallon of hot water. Wash your laminate floors with a standard mop and bucket.

5. Mix 1/4 cup ammonia, 1/4 cup vinegar and 1 tbsp. clear dish soap. Add 3 cups hot water if you are making this as a refill for your ready-to-use mop. Fill your gallon bucket with hot water if you are using a standard mop and bucket.

Tips & Warnings

• When working with laminate floors, avoid over-saturating your floor. Wring out your mop often.

• If you are using a ready-to-mop kit, use old towels to replace the expensive pads that come with the mop. Towels can be used over and over again, which is good for the environment and your budget.

• Never mix ammonia and bleach.
