How to Play "Super Mario Brothers 3" for Free Online

Who doesn't remember playing "Super Mario Brothers 3" as a kid? The third game in the Mario franchise, it is also one of the most popular. It is much more difficult and complex than its predecessors and returns Mario to his roots. Once again, you have to save Princess Toadstool from the evil Bowser. But you have some new toys with which to play. "Super Mario Brothers 3" introduces the leaf that gives Mario a raccoon tail and ears and the ability to fly for short distances. You can relive your childhood memories of warp whistles and lands of giant Koopas easily and all without breaking out your old NES. Now you can play online as long as you have a flash plug in for your browser.

Instructions

1. Go to the Super Mario Brothers 3 website (see Resources).

2. 

   Click inside the game window to start.

3. Click "Enter" to start the game. "Enter" is the Start button. "Control" is the Select button. "X" is Jump. "Z" flaps the tail as a raccoon. The Arrow keys control movement. "Down" makes you duck or go down a pipe. "Up" opens doors.

4. 

   Choose a level to play. Move Mario with the Arrow keys. Press "'X" to enter a level. You must do the levels in order, although you may skip a level if the game will let you.

5. Play the level. Be sure to jump on Goombas and Koopas to kill them. You cannot jump on the plants. Also, jump up and hit your head on blocks to get coins and other goodies. Mushrooms make Mario bigger. A leaf turns him into a flying raccoon. A flower makes him able to throw fireballs. A frog suit turns Mario into a frog. A raccoon suit turns him into a raccoon.

Tips & Warnings

• Use Koopa shells to get blocks Mario can't hit his head on.

• Do not fall into a pit or you will die.
