Style a Doo Rag Like a Gangster
Gangsters wear their doo rags, also called du rags and do rags, at three ways. You can wear it with the back flap hanging down on your neck, tied in a knot or tied and tucked. All three of these ways to wear your doo rag are easy. Here’s how: Does this Spark an idea?

1
Put the doo rag over and on your head. Place the short end at the front of your head, near the forehead. You want the line to be right above your eyebrows. You will have two strings, one near each ear. The long part of the doo rag will be hanging at your neck.
-
2
Hold a string in each hand. Take them tightly around the back first crossing them at the base of your head (make sure you cross them above the flap, not under), bring the strings back around to the front, crossing on the forehead and go back around to the base of the head. (See resource)

3
Tie the strings under first and then into a bow. Just like tying your shoestrings. At this point you can just leave the back flap hanging down your neck. If you do not want to leave the flap hanging, go to the next step.

4
Tie flap into a knot. Gather the flap with both hands. Twist the gathered flap. With the flap twisted, make a loop and then a knot (see resource) bringing your fabric through the center of the knot. You can also just wear it like this in a tight knot at the back of the head.
-
5
Tuck the hanging fabric from the knot. If you do not wish to leave the knot fabric hanging through the knot, you can take the hanging fabric from the knot, fold it over and tuck it under the main head wrap in the back. This only leaves the knot at the back of the head. (See resource)
