How to Advertise Cheaply in Ezines

One of the cheapest and most effective ways to market your business online is to advertise in ezines. Ezines are online magazines (sometimes referred to as journals or newsletters as well). In the past several years, ezines have grown in popularity. There are currently thousands of popular ezines, covering a wide range of topics.

Instructions

1. Create a budget. You must decide how much you have to spend each week or month on ezine advertising. A good beginner's budget is between $50 and $150 per month. Keep in mind the first month's budget must include ad/logo design.

2. Browse ezine directories to find popular ezines in your field of interest. You will want to select ezines that are related to your interests and/or directly related to the products or services you offer. A few good ezine directories to browse are in Resources below.

3. Read copies of the ezines you are considering before you begin advertising in them. This will help narrow down your choices. Select ezines that you think are high quality or at least reflect your taste and target audience.

4. Contact the ezine publishers to determine the cost of advertising and the submission process. You may be able to find out this information in the ezine itself.

5. Create a button or banner ad that is appropriate for your target audience. Button or banner ads are simply small images that have your website address and/or logo included. These buttons or banners may or may not be clickable links, depending on your preference or the preference of the ezine publishers.

6. If you do not know how to create your own button or banner ad, you can hire someone to do it for you. Typically you will need to provide an image or design concept to the person or company creating your ad. Buttons and banners are inexpensive to create. You should spend between $10 and $50 for professional ad creation. Use your preferred search engine to search for a reputable person or company to create your button or banner ad.

7. Submit your button or banner ad to the ezines you've selected and prepare to connect with new potential customers.
